Christmas Cures

All is still in Gemstone Glade. Silent snow falls like a promise of a better tomorrow.

Bells ring, a song of merriment dancing with the snowflakes. Then he is here. A sleigh softly careers in to the glade, pulled by two large reindeer, their antlers glowing with red light. A large man in a red cloak jumps out, smiling. “Here at last!” he sighs. Father Christmas sits at the edge of the fountain, and places his hands in the water. His smile grows wider.

“I can feel my strength returning!” he chortles. “This is indeed the nectar of life.” He drinks water from his hands, as his cheeks glow red.

The reindeer approach the fountain, bending their heads and drinking deeply. Their eyes sparkle as water magic sets fire to their hearts.

“Time to go!” Father Christmas rubs his hands. “There are more children waiting for us. But after this, we are ready for anything!”

He mounts the sleigh, and they fly off in to the starry night.

It continues to snow. All is at peace once more in Gemstone Glade.

Melody

All was still in Gemstone Glade, an expectant hush waiting for that silver-tinted surprise.

There were many surprises in Gemstone Glade. Today, slowly, silently, the image of a giant musical note descended from the sky, silver and sparkling, bold and beautiful.

It hung suspended. The silence softly ended as a keen music grew louder. Soothing and stimulating at once, it was the music of stars, the melody of a moon, deep and indescribable.

Fairies began to fly in to the glade, dancing and laughing in time to the music. As the music filled their souls, they began to grow, then split in two, as new fairies were instantly created, the children of stars.

The fairies continued to dance, the melody stealing their memories as a fresh future unfurled for them and their twins. The music healed them of all their cares. A real fairy party had claimed the glade. The future was theirs, a dance hall where all their dreams split like them in two, and created a better reality.

A time to dream, a time to dance, it would never end.
