The Gemstone Glade golden fairies are rarely seen. This Easter Sunday they have however ventured forth, escorting a small golden egg to a very special boy on Planet Earth. Discreetly, they deposit it among his other Easter eggs, a magic spell hidden among chocolate and flowers.

Colin wakes early on Easter Sunday, dreams of chocolate and easter bunnies drifting away on the winds of dawn. His parents have left Easter eggs next to his bed. A grin of glee devours his face as he beholds the shining wrapped chocolate. Then he notices the golden egg.
Tenderly, he holds it, stroking the smooth golden shell. It breaks in two, to reveal a golden key inside.
Gently, Colin turns the key in his hand.

There is a light knock at his bedroom window. Colin looks up. A gold unicorn horn touches the window, a giant white horse behind. A unicorn.
As he opens the window, the unicorn stares in his eyes and speaks in his mind. “Mount me.” Colin climbs out the window, the key still in his hand. Huge unicorn wings encircle him as mounts the mighty horse. They fly in to the early morning sun.
A forest glade soon appears below them. The fountain bubbles with joy as the unicorn shows Colin where to dig. A small treasure chest appears. He places his key in the lock, and it turns easily.

Inside is an even larger golden egg.
The unicorn nods. He is to take the egg.
“This egg will one day hatch to reveal a magical beast, griffin, dragon, or phoenix, I do not know. Look after the egg well. When it opens, you will meet a friend and protector who will help you always.”
Colin smiles with happiness and disbelief entwined like a ribbon from heaven. This is the best Easter ever. When he arrives home, he hides the egg at the back of his wardrobe. His heart shines with his golden secret.
