Dominic the Dolphin

Tiny Dominic the Dolphin splashed happily in the Gemstone Glade fountain, its waters like music in his heart, a song of a thousand sea sunsets. He could not imagine life anywhere else. And he had so many friends here, especially the many crystalline fairies.

Then the impossible happened. A blue ring of ice appeared above him. Beyond it, Dominic could smell the sea. Curious, he jumped through. He found himself in a clear green ocean.

Little did he know that this was Crystal Cosmos, an ancient and mystical land of liquid aquamarine seas littered with crystal islands. Ahead, an amber island glowed in a low sun.

Dominic somersaulted in glee. The sun shone on his back and the sea danced in his eyes. He soon forgot about Gemstone Glade, as awe of his new playground overcame him.

Dominic dived to the ocean floor, his explorer heart afire. A large sapphire blue egg rocked on the seabed, twinkling as if alight.

Then it split in two, as Dominic’s heart jumped in delight, a dolphin prayer erupting before him. A tiny dragon emerged, the same size as Dominic. She sported blue and yellow scales, a patchwork quilt of dragon joy.

“I am Diana,” she told him telepathically. “I have been asleep for a thousand years or more, waiting and waiting for the right time to hatch.”

Dominic felt a shooting star in his heart. He had met a twin flame. They swam to the surface, then danced together like a long lost couple, finding each other after a lifetime apart. As they tangoed in unison, a rainbow curled around their bodies then shot in to the sky. They looked up in awe. A rainbow shone above like a gateway to paradise. As one, Dominic and Diana jumped in to the pastel picture, and were gone.

They arrived in Rainbow Rhapsody, a land of rainbow coloured seas, and rainbow quartz dolphins. Two of these dolphins swam towards them, giant by comparison to Dominic and Diana. Their bodies were quartz crystal, one glowing green inside and the other blue. “Hello travellors!” they called merrily.

Dominic and Diana played with their new friends, delight dancing in their hearts as their bodies somersaulted in free abandon.

After a while, Dominic remembered his home, Gemstone Glade. How he wished he could take Diana there. “Have you heard of Gemstone Glade?” he asked his new friends, Frodo and Fenella.

“No, but if you call a rainbow to you it will take you wherever you wish,” explained Fenella.

Dominic softly called a nearby rainbow, which moved its shining light to encompass him. “Gemstone Glade,” he requested as he and Diana jumped. And arrived back in the Gemstone Glade fountain. “Welcome to my home,” said Dominic with a tear of joy in his eyes.

Above them, the rainbow portal remained open. With shouts of glee, the crystalline fairies flew in to the light. Dominic and Daisy meanwhile rested in the healing fountain waters. “I think this is my home now too,” said Daisy softly. “You are very welcome,” laughed Dominic.

After a few hours, the fairies returned with tales of a rainbow fairy queen and magical gifts. Night arrived in Gemstone Glade, and fairies, dragon and dolphin alike welcomed a sweet slumber like no other, as rainbow light bathed their souls. Rainbow magic held the glade in its soft and protective hands. All was at peace, a rainbow prayer like a potion in the air, sea healing in slow motion.
