Snowdrop Song

Blessing the Unicorn strode softly in to a snow swept Gemstone Glade, her long flowing mane and tail billowing around her like a silken veil. The crystal fairies rushed around, happy to see their best friend. They loved nothing more than to curl her hair and add little jewels.

“It is time to wish everyone a happy new year,” proclaimed Blessing, her aquamarine eyes misting with emotion.

Blessing’s secret magical powers simmered within. She could make plants and flowers grow to ten times their size; a unicorn gardener extraordinaire, a blessing to blossoms, a floral poem in motion.

The fairies laughed in delight, clapping their tiny hands as Blessing walked round the glade. The she spied them, tiny green dots in the snow … snowdrop buds. Quickly, Blessing touched her horn to the little sparks of latent life. The tiny plants pulsed with unicorn magic, growing in to giant flowering snowdrops in mere minutes. Blessing neighed softly in sweet satisfaction.

She nodded at the cool air before her. A green portal of light appeared. Effortlessly, she jumped through to Planet Earth, finding and spellbinding snowdrop buds. Quickly, she travelled far and wide, leaving giant snowdrops swaying behind her.

All over the land, snowdrops emerged from the snow like portents of impending spring. And people everywhere discovered the flowers in their gardens and parks, their hearts hiccupping as their spirits soared in hope.

Silently, snowdrops kissed the land, words unsaid and hope unharnessed in their flower hearts. Hope for a better new year, hope for a snowdrop kissed land, hope for a flower power future, hope for happiness in every heart in the world.
