Rainbow Dreams Come True

Rainbow the Warrior Unicorn jumped through rainbow portal after rainbow portal, spreading peace like pastel rain. Her coat glistened with all the colours of the rainbow, while her horn glowed with soft golden light.

Today there was an argument in a household kitchen, a married couple disagreeing over their porridge. Rainbow appeared before them then was gone like a magical vision. Voices lowered and tempers calmed. The argument was over, a mystery in its place.

Then a school playground, a fight between two children pausing while the assembled crowd of youngsters gazed in awe at the unicorn. Then Rainbow was gone, and the fight was over.

Next came a shop, where an irate customer shouted at a quivering sales assistant. A shining unicorn raced between them, and was gone. The angry customer was left speechless, and then hurriedly left the store.

And again and again. Sometimes she would stop, mentally asking, “portal fairies …. Somewhere to rest next.”

Today at her request the portal changed its rainbow hues to silver and gold … the colour of unicorn horns.

Rainbow jumped in to the glittering light. She found herself in a forest glade with a fountain in its middle, and a wooden sign proudly proclaiming, “Gemstone Glade.”

Crystalline fairies flew around her. “Welcome, unicorn stranger, you will find much to enjoy here.”

For once, she was somewhere where peace prevailed already. Slowly, Rainbow sipped from the sparkling fountain waters. Immediately, she felt revived.

A soft neigh shushed the glade. Rainbow turned round to behold a mighty Pegasus.

“Hello, I am Ryan. It is always a pleasure to see a new unicorn here.”

Rainbow had met a kindred soul. The two unicorns exchanged notes on their many adventures. Read Unicorn Ryan Adventures

Then a portal of shining pink light opened before them.

“I think it is time we adventure together,” said Ryan. Together they jumped in to the light, and to a new year of pink possibility and maybe, just maybe unicorn dreams come true.

May rainbow unicorns guide your way, and may the silken dust of all your dreams come true follow you through 2026 and beyond.

Christmas Lucky Star

Magical unicorns Holly and Ivy entered Gemstone Glade, their horns as bright as the stars in the sky above. It was Christmas and the night was theirs … to spread sparkle and stardust on Planet Earth.

They carried Christmas magic in their hearts, sharing this each December with a few chosen children. Their sleigh full of gifts, it was time for an enchanted night to begin.

Holly and Ivy flew in to the night, their sleigh behind them, their horns acting as radar for the first lucky child on the unhappy this year register.

Then they were there, in the garden of a small house  in London. A dark-haired boy looked out his window with starstruck eyes. Was he dreaming?

This would be no ordinary Christmas present. Thomas was a talented kid, trying to write a book. The unicorns were here to share their story.

Thomas ran in to the garden in his slippers. Holly and Ivy walked round him, as he tentatively touched them. Enchantment lit his heart with its festive fire.

Then Holly touched his head with her horn. A magical Christmas story dripped in to his mind like a mist of memories he never knew he had. Thomas clenched his fist, as his fingers longed to write. And write he did, long in to the Christmas Eve night. A saga of two magical unicorns Holly and Ivy, and their many Christmas adventures. Thomas smiled as he finally closed his laptop, and crawled to bed.

Magic murmured in his mind. Two years later, his story was published, a gift of sparkle and stardust for children everywhere.

Holly and Ivy’s story became a Christmas classic. Sometimes a child would read the book, then look out their window on a cold Christmas Eve, and imagine the unicorns were really there, in the stars above.

And sometimes an unhappy child would wake on Christmas morning to gifts galore on their windowsill. Were Holly and Ivy real? They would never know …

May you see them one December, far far above … two unicorns and their sleigh of magic. And may a lucky star shine on you tonight, granting all your dreams come true in 2026 and beyond.

Rhodochrosite Ruth

Fairy Rhodochrosite Ruth possessed only one special gift, the ability to turn roses in to rhodochrosite crystal. And each crystal rose would contain the dreams coming true magic known only to fairies.

As Ruth swept through Gemstone Glade today she felt sad. There were no more roses to practice with in the forest at large. She had a talent … but no toys to play with.

Then magic struck her like a diamond crystal arrow, a weapon of wizardry that lit the glade with bright pink light. It was an enchanted portal, and impossible to resist its sweet radiance.

On the other side, Ruth found herself in a children’s school playground. What am I doing here? she thought nervously. Then she saw it. A rose garden at the far end of the playground, likely cared for by little hands, childish laughter linking with rose magic to create a special space of joy.

Ruth closed her eyes and used her fairy power to enlarge to human size. She had a feeling she would be staying for a while, so best to fit in.

Then she set to work. The next morning, children arrived in the schoolyard to screams of bewilderment, the sunshine of delight trying to break through the clouds of disquiet.

For every rose was now a beautiful pink crystal flower. Little did they know that this was enchanted rhodochrosite crystal.

As the children touched them, rose crystals fell in to waiting hands. These were dreamcatcher crystals. Fast forward fifteen years … and dream happy ever after careers had taken hold. From Postman Pat to astronaut, from ice skater to brain surgeon, from pop singer to policeman, every child achieved their secret wish in life.

And Ruth followed each destiny like a lab technician tending plants. She had chosen to stay in the village, keep her new body and earning her living as a magician, a very easy job for a fairy.

The dust of dreams come true dazzled her eyes. It was time for new magic, she had achieved her goals here.

The day had come to whisper rose-tinted poems elsewhere. She snapped her fingers and the pink portal appeared again. Rose grinned with the mirth of a magician.

First, she arrived at Anglesey Abbey Gardens in Cambridgeshire, UK. The scent of roses teased her brain. She smiled with the satisfaction of a five year old truly believing they would be an astronaut one day. There was work to do here.

Then Ruth portal flew to the rose garden at The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California. Here she found heaven, and vowed never to leave.

However after some weeks another portal opened unannounced, and transported her to the Roseraie du Val-de-Marne in France. A celebration of roses embraced her like a soft summer wind. Ruth had finally found the happiness that had eluded her all her life.

One day she would return to Gemstone Glade, and what tales she could tell. Until then, she would heal the world … one rose petal at a time. And like a rose, Ruth’s pink prayer would last forever.
