Turquoise Tales

The sun cradled Gemstone Glade in its radiant hands. Under an ancient tree, the secret stone tablet shone with inner light. Words waltzed with the promise of a new adventure:

Pink Paradise
Fluorite Farm
Turquoise Town
Fairytale Forest

Rainbow coloured unicorn Raya watched silently as unicorn Ryan touched his shining horn to the letters “Turquoise Town.”

A circle of glowing turquoise light appeared before them.

“Wait for me!” sung a soft voice. It was Turquoise Tanya, one of the many Gemstone Glade crystalline fairies. “You can’t enter a turquoise portal without me!”

Ryan neighed his consent. In happy unison, the two unicorns and crystalline fairy entered the pool of magic light.

Mountains stunned their eyes with silent grandeur. An air of mystery played with their minds. A pool of turquoise lava glimmered under a bright sun.

Giant turquoise beetles emerged from caves at the foot of the mountains, carrying turquoise crystals in their mouths. “They are miners,” breathed Ryan telepathically. “This is a turquoise crystal mill.”

Smoke climbed high from the top of the mountains. Then a roar caused the ground beneath them to shake.

A magnificent dragon crawled from the top of the nearest mountain, scales golden under the sun, green smoke fleeing its mouth like an army of mighty mist, fierce eyes regarding them from beneath a turquoise crown.

Then the dragon flapped its green and gold wings and sped towards them. Fear fingered Ryan’s heart, as Raya shivered beside him.

“Greetings, beasts from a foreign land. I am Taqueena, Queen of the Treasure Dragons. We guard valuable artefacts and ancient secrets. We also protect this planet’s bees, who make liquid turquoise honey. Welcome to Turquoise Tower Mountains, live volcanos containing turquoise crystal and mined here for the whole universe. We are a place of healing and protection. Our crystals bring luck and safety to all who wear them. But who are you? I can tell from your eyes that many stories have stirred your souls.”

Ryan bowed his agreement, and relayed his tantalizing tales, adventure like a sweet pill in his eyes, enigmas waiting to be explored. Read all Ryan’s adventures here

“Come with me in to the Turquoise Tower Mountains,” offered Taqueena, the promise of magic in her molten eyes. “I have something special to show you.”

The three adventurers followed the mighty beast down a large tunnel into the heart of the mountain. A beat danced in their ears, delightful drum music like a distant memory in sound. “It is the murmur of the mountain’s heart,” explained Taqueena. “This is a living mountain. Sometimes its spirit leaves in the night and dances on the seashore. But most of the time she lives here, invisible behind the turquoise walls.”

Then they arrived in a vast cave, turquoise crystal climbing its walls like magic ivy. In the centre of the space, a nest of eggs glowed with inner light. Ryan neighed softly, awe in his eyes. Meanwhile, Turquoise Tanya flew over the nest, waving her wand around ecstatically.

A crack split the silence in two. One of the eggs was hatching …

A tiny dragon slowly emerged, blinking in the dim light. Green scales mixed with golden stars on his small body. Taqueena gaspsed. “He is one of them. The ancient mystery dragons, unknown here for centuries. He has access to the magic of the stars. And you three … he has come for you. He has chosen you.”

Taqueena tenderly picked up the young dragon with her paw, and offered him to Ryan. The dragon rode inside his folded wing as the mismatched group exited the mountain. The sun was high in the sky outside. Tanya flew around Ryan with glee in her grin. This was fun.

“When he is old enough, I will find you again,” declared Taqueena.

“Gemstone Glade is the place,” advised Raya. “A portal will open for you I am sure.”

Above, clouds slid across the sky like sailing boats. Two covered the sun as they shapeshifted in to a vision of a dragon and unicorn.

The group gasped. Raindrops fell, hissing in the turquoise lava below. The baby dragon emitted a muted mini-roar, happiness erupting in his heart like a volcano.

One huge raindrop turned to gold as it hit Ryan’s horn. It fell to his feet.

“Why, it has turned in to a golden egg!” breathed Raya.

“A golden egg!” sighed Taqueena. “Let me take it, and keep it safe. If this births a golden dragon, blessed indeed are we. Pure golden dragons have not lived here in aeons. When they return … everything will change.”

The portal of turquoise light suddenly reappeared. “I guess it is time for us to leave,” said Ryan sadly as Taqueena retrieved the baby dragon.

“Don’t forget, when this dragon is old enough, I will find you,” promised Taqueena. “Before you go … one question. What is his name?”

Ryan closed his eyes in deep thought, then he uttered: “Miracle.”

And so the three returned to Gemstone Glade, mystery misting their eyes, their hearts aching for the day they would see Miracle again. Above, the sun still shone, a silent witness to all below. The Gemstone Glade fountain hummed its quiet song, as crystalline fairies flew around them, eager to hear their story.

Ryan walked towards the secret tablet, and perused its words. The next adventure beckoned …

Pink Paradise

Rainbow painted Unicorn Raya watched new friend Unicorn Ryan as he unearthed a magical stone tablet at the edge of Gemstone Glade. An adventure beckoned her curious heart, like a stray angel from a children’s novel come to welcome her to its pages, a story like no other …

The stone tablet shone with inner light. Letters danced, finally forming words:

Pink Paradise
Fluorite Farm
Turquoise Town
Fairytale Forest

“It has to be Pink Paradise,” proclaimed Raya.

Ryan gently touched his horn to the glowing words. Immediately, a candy pink cloud appeared above them. “Jump!” commanded Ryan.

They arrived in a forest glade, similar in size to Gemstone Glade but with no fountain. Underfoot, rose quartz glistened. Around them, trees of rose quartz crystal with dainty pink leaves murmured in a lazy breeze. Above, a bright pink sun sailed high among candy pink clouds. It really was a pink paradise.

“Look!” breathed Ryan. “An opening to an underground tunnel!”

A rose quartz hole led to descending pink steps, tantalising their eyes and enticing their minds. “Let’s go!” breathed Raya.

The tunnel was large, more than big enough for the two of them. It wound down and down in to the ground.

After a while, an opening gave way to a cave. Ryan and Raya entered with excitement in their eyes.

It was a rose pink quartz Gemstone Glade, complete with crystal fountain and singing pink water, and tiny rose quartz trees. There were even rose quartz fairies flying among the trees. It felt like a pink version of home.

Ryan and Raya’s hearts expanded with healing pink power.

A tall glowing pink angel appeared before them. “Welcome, unicorn adventurers. I am Roseanne, angel of pink quartz. Come closer.”

Roseanne whispered in their ears some rose quartz secrets. The two unicorns nodded their horns in thanks.

“We come from Gemstone Glade, far far away.”

“I know you do. Here is a little bag of rose quartz seeds; you can now grow your own crystal trees in your glade. When they grow tall enough, the trees will lead to a pink universe of rose magic, greater even than in this world here. You can take Earth children there, special children you choose, who will go on to heal their planet.”

A portal of pink cloud appeared again. It was time to go home.

However rose quartz pink magic would return with them. The two unicorns could not wait to plant the magical rose quartz tree seeds.

Back in Gemstone Glade, the fountain waters turned pink. A rose quartz song hung in the air. Gently, Ryan lowered the bag on his horn, and spilled its shining seeds in to the waiting earth. The earth hummed with crystal promise.

A rose quartz fairy flew in to the glade, laughing gaily. “I am Rose Ravenna, and I am here to nurture these sacred seeds.” The usual Gemstone Glade crystal fairies flew over, greeting Ravenna gaily, delighted to meet a new friend. There would be a fairy party that night.

“And I have news for you,” declared Ravenna. “Ryan and Raya, I have your names right? You will find a child on Earth by the name of Rhea, and you will take her to the Pink Universe once your rose quartz trees have grown. She will carry rose quartz healing back to Planet Earth, and will start a movement of young people all over the world. Your future is full of rose pink bubbles and crystal cures. Rhea’s future is now linked to yours.”

The Gemstone Glade future blossomed rose bright. Rose quartz energy drifted in the air like a perfumed poem. Ryan neighed softly as he unearthed his enchanted tablet again. No time to rest, adventure ached in his heart and sung to his soul.

As Raya followed him, a thousand tomorrows awoke like flowers at dawn. It was time to waltz with wondrous worlds once more.

Rainbow Raya

Raya the Unicorn entered Gemstone Glade, a dream of living light, pastel poetry in motion. Her rainbow body glimmered under the moonlight, like an artist’s colour palette waiting to weave its magic.

Seldom seen in the glade, Raya preferred her privacy. Tonight however, she shivered with mission in her sparkling eyes. Magic glowed in her green horn, as a secret smile sung in her eyes.

Slowly, Raya walked towards the ancient oak tree, noble protector of the glade, silent sentry of centuries uncounted. Gently, she placed the tip of her horn to its trunk.

The tree suddenly glowed with green inner light, then it changed to pink, then to blue, then indigo, then violet, then back to green. The Gemstone Glade fairies clapped their hands in glee.

Little did Raya know, that the Gemstone Glade oak tree did not merely hold magic in its large roots … it could also connect spiritually to each oak tree on Planet Earth. As moonlight kissed its branches, enchanted electricity sped through its roots and in its turn kissed each oak tree in the world below.

On a moonlit night, each oak tree on Earth would now change colour like a ripple rainbow moving though time and space to create a river of healing light.

The people on Earth were stunned, deciding the enigma was a sign … of hope.

And hope hugged Raya’s own heart as the Gemstone Glade oak tree suddenly grew upwards in fast motion, branches thrusting themselves in to a wiser world. Then it appeared above, a green cloud that Raya somehow knew was a magic portal. Her wings quivered in avid anticipation.

A whir of wind behind her heralded the arrival of Unicorn Ryan. He nodded his horn towards her in a gentle hello. Then he looked up, and together they flew in to the green cloud.

They arrived in a large forest of oak trees. “I believe this is Magical Oak Tree Forest,” Ryan informed her using the ancient language of telepathy.

They wandered along winding paths, trees towering overhead like protectors of the world. Ryan touched his horn to a tree. Its bark groaned, and then magically it sprouted two pink and green unicorn wings. They fluttered in a gentle breeze. Then water dripped from them like tears … indeed the soul of the ancient oak tree was now crying.

The magic tears fell through time and space and then rained on Planet Earth. All over the world, the oak tree tears touched hearts and triggered human tears. The planet rocked to raw emotion and mystic melancholy … and the people remembered. They understood the beauty of the planet, and connected to the sacred souls within each tree. And then they cried for the devastation wrought by their own species.

Smiles chased away tears like the sun. It was time for change. It was time to heal the world.

Far away, Ryan and Raya returned to Gemstone Glade. “I have a magic tablet,” confided Ryan. “Would you like another adventure with me?”

“How exciting!” laughed Raya. It was time to shed tears for travel. Together, they felt invincible.

The Gemstone Glade oak tree turned pink.

“Let’s find a pink paradise!” cried Raya.

“I think we might just manage that,” replied Ryan.

They touched horns, a smile of delicious dreams in their eyes.

Far below them, oak trees nursed their wish for a better tomorrow. And as a new day dawned, they knew the undeniable destiny of all dreams … to come true.

Lucky Star

Unicorn Ryan trotted happily in to Gemstone Glade, new year promise in his heart, anticipation of all his future adventures to come. He sniffed the Gemstone Glade Christmas tree, the sweet scent of pine lifting his soul. Read Unicorn Ryan Adventures

The baubles winked in the light. Ryan knew the tree would be profoundly magical, so he lowered his his horn and moved it in circles, adding unicorn enchantment to the mix. He was not to be disappointed. The magenta, indigo and violet baubles turned in to twinkling stars, rising above the tree and then joining together to form a bubble of bright light. The light grew larger, a portal to a world unknown.

Ryan flapped his massive Pegasus wings, and flew in to the light.

He arrived on a sandy plain under a starlit sky. Gnomes in tight jackets and Christmas hats were holding balls of light, smoothing them and whispering to them. One of the gnomes noticed Ryan, and grinned. “We don’t often see unicorns here!” he laughed. “You are an adventurer, I guess. We are the Galvanic Gnome Tribe of planet Lucky Star, this is where you are now. That portal of light you have jumped through will be affected by the very air here, when you return you will take stars with you. For this is a birthplace for stars. You heard me right, stars. Every shooting star you have ever seen was birthed here. Seeing them is lucky, but if they fall near you it is a triple blessing of lifelong luck.”

“I am privileged to meet you,” declared Ryan. “I have ventured to many lands, this one is certainly the most magical.”

“Don’t stay long, your portal may close soon.”

As Ryan flew back through the portal of light it closed behind him, but not before three bright stars slid through. They danced above the fountain, twinkling in its waters below. The portal of light collapsed, and the magenta, indigo and violet stars reformed. The indigo star flew to the fountain too; the other two stars waltzed in to the night and were gone.

So look out the window at the night sky, and search for that one shooting star, the lucky star that will change your life. May the new year bless you, and may stars always guide your way.

Mystery Mountains

Unicorn Ryan trots in to Gemstone Glade with best friend white tiger cub Waterfall not far behind. They are here to unearth the magic stone tablet gifted to them last Christmas, read the story here

By placing a unicorn horn over the ancient text on the tablet, they can travel to any of the magical places listed.

Unicorn Ryan neighs softly. He touches the tip of his horn gently on the words “Mystery Mountains.”

A portal of sparkling ice appears before them, snowflakes floating in to the glade. Ryan and Waterfall look at each other, and then as one jump through the winter window.

They are on a snow kissed path that winds to a mountain ahead. A silken sunset dazzles their eyes and soothes their spirit. Winter wonder is in the air.

As they approach the mountain, they see the entrances to many caves. All have crystal growths around them, all in different crystal colours.

Today, they choose the nearest and rose quartz pink cave entrance.

They stand at its threshold in silent wonder. Before them, is a Gemstone Glade in pink. An identical fountain, however made of rose quartz with flowing pink waters.

Giant rose quartz clusters line the edges of the caves, looking like pink trees. And flying all around, rose quartz fairies. It really is a pink version of Gemstone Glade. However what is it doing here on this mountain?

And then she is there before you, a Pegasus unicorn with a pink tinged coat and horn.

“Welcome, intrepid travellers. I am Rose. Are you from our sister glade, the famous Gemstone Glade?”

“We are indeed,” says Ryan. “Are you connected to our glade in some way?”

“Yes, our fountain here acts as a portal to your glade. We never use it, but it is always there if needed. We generate pink healing energy here and send it to the world below as required.”

A tiny pink dolphin somersaults over the fountain.

“We are also home to Primrose the Pink Dolphin. She has the power to heal oceans, bringing gentle pink healing wherever she goes.”

A pink portal of light suddenly opens, and Primrose jumps through it.

“That is strange,” confides Rose. “What you see there is a portal to Gemstone Glade, your glade. It has never opened by itself before. It is a sign. Shall we visit together?”

And so Ryan and Waterfall jump through the pink portal behind Rose. They introduce her to the crystalline fairies and other unicorns from the forest. The fairies throw a party as only fairies can. There is cheer and chuckles, as Rose tells stories of her pink glade well in to the night.

Now the portal is open, fairies and unicorns alike can visit Mystery Mountains whenever they wish. The fountain turns rose pink. Pink dust falls like blossom, blessing the ground.

It begins to rain in Gemstone Glade, drops that slowly turn pink and kiss the ground with pastel promise.

Ryan and Waterfall both agree this has been their best adventure yet. A pink sun has risen in their hearts, and it will never set again.

A Pegasus Prayer

Thomas wrote in to the night, his eight year old hands scribbling as fast as he could, his long blond locks tumbling in to his eyes. Downstairs, he heard his parents drinking and laughing, celebrating New Year’s Eve with frivolity and fun.

However there would be no fun for Thomas. He had a book to write.

A pegasus unicorn on a book with flowers growing on the open pages. The backdrop is a room with pictures and ornaments.

Two nights ago, she had come silently in the night, disturbing a dream in which he was writing a book, pen rushing over the page like a racehorse. She was a horse too: a Pegasus, a winged unicorn.

“I would like you to share my story.”

Her golden eyes burnt in to his like tiny suns.

“I am Honey, the Pegasus of Prayer, the Horse of Hymns. I have a prayer for humanity. Write a story about a unicorn visiting Earth, and include this prayer …”

Thomas loved writing. Perhaps that was why Honey chose him. Only children can see unicorns, she had confided. That is why she could not go to an adult author, they would not hear her words. It had to be him.

That New Year’s Eve, Thomas wrote all night. By 6am he had finished his unicorn children’s story.

Hesitantly, he showed his mother. She smiled in disbelief, all her new year hopes and dreams coming true at once. The story brought tears and laughter together; its prayer touched her heart like honey running in her veins, and nectar dripping through her brain.

And in the new year, the unicorn story was published. Its prayer cradled every reader’s heart in hands of gentle winter snow. Words that could stir sympathy for others, words that would slice through suffering and entice the sun out from the clouds.

The prayer sailed the planet and flew through the skies like a pegasus. Little by little, the heart of humanity was healed. A better new year had dawned, and a new destiny to dance to.

Meanwhile, Honey returned and introduced Thomas to Gemstone Glade, where he spent a happy hour meeting the crystalline fairies and Unicorn Ryan. (read Unicorn Ryan stories)

May your new year be filled with unicorn prayers too. Smile through sorrow, and test drive a better tomorrow.

We look forward to showing you more of the wonders of Gemstone Glade in 2023.

A Golden Christmas

Zoisite Zina flies round the Gemstone Glade Christmas tree, laughter like the sweetest tonic in her throat.

There are only two giant baubles left, a gold or a diamond one, what a choice! Zina makes up her mind, and lands on the golden bauble. It then flies around the glade, expanding in size to finally turn in to a portal of golden light.

The golden tunnel leads to a world on fire with gold. A golden prairie stretches as far as Zina can see, and a golden sun kisses the land with bright gold light.

A tribe of yellow maned unicorns confront her. Each sports a shining golden horn.

“Welcome,” says a tall unicorn with glistening green eyes. “I am Georgia of the Golden Unicorn Clan. Dear fairy from afar, take our golden blessings home with you, and enjoy the wisdom of the golden ray for the rest of your life.”

Georgia directs her golden horn towards Zina. Zina’s wings turn golden, and a golden crown manifests on her head. Suddenly, she can think more clearly. Little does she know, that the gold crown has infinitely increased her intelligence, supercharging her brain like a magic battery.

Zina bows her head in a silent thank you. Back in Gemstone Glade, she flies around the Christmas tree again, then joins the golden angel at its top. The angel turns to her, smiles and takes her hand. Together, they descend to the fountain, and its healing waters turn golden.

Dominic the Dolphin jumps up to kiss them both. His eyes twinkle with reflected golden magic.

It is time for the Gemstone Glade crystalline fairies to party. No one celebrates a Christmas quite as special as a Gemstone Glade Christmas.

And it is time for the power of gold to heal all hearts everywhere. It is time for every golden Christmas wish to come true.

Dolphin Dream

Crystalline fairy Moonstone Marina flies eagerly round the Gemstone Glade Christmas Tree, finally deciding to land on a large blue bauble in the hands of a golden fairy. The fairy smiles, and Marina’s eyes grin with festive fun.

The blue bauble falls to the ground, grows larger and larger and then transforms in to a portal of azure light.

Marina laughs as she flies in to the bubble of blue bliss.

She arrives on a beach kissed by a clear blue sea, the colour of a summer sky with no clouds. A unicorn with sea green eyes and a golden horn comes towards her. “Welcome, fair fairy. I am Etta of the Mer Unicorn Tribe. This is Sun Sanctuary, a world of unending sea and island beaches. Travellors come from all over the cosmos to swim in our ocean, it is deeply healing. This planet is a holiday resort for the sick. Look out to the sea, do you see the dolphins playing in the distance? Go and join them, you will learn much.”

Marina flies over the sea. The dolphins ahead are jumping with joy. The air is alive with calm contentment and fresh air fun.

“Greetings, little fairy!” Marina is astonished to see the silver horn on each dolphin’s head. They are uni-dolphins, and as such are powerful healers.

“Cone with us to our underwater city, Dolphin Dream.” The dolphin gently points his horn at her. “Follow us, you will be able to breath underwater now.”

Marina trusts them, and dives in to the blue water. She can breathe normally, a pocket of oxygen is around her like a protective blanket.

Eventually they arrive at the foot of the ocean, where tall silver tunnels converge to a large underwater palace of aquamarine and rose quartz crystal. Marina claps her hands in delight. She truly is in paradise.

She spends many happy hours with the dolphins, who gift her a small mer-crystal, the colour of the sea and with a tiny dolphin figure inside. Marina is enchanted.

However it is time to go home, before the magic portal to Gemstone Glade closes.

Marina swims to the surface, and flies to the beach with a sunshine smile on her face. The portal is still there and she flies through. She places her little crystal in the Gemstone Glade fountain. It cracks open like an egg, and the tiny dolphin inside swims free, jumping for joy.

Gemstone Glade has a new delightful denizen. The healing power of Sun Sanctuary’s ocean turns the fountain azure blue. The fairies rush to the fountain and drink. Waves of sea strength surge through their crystalline bodies, as the tiny dolphin jumps up to kiss them. They call their new friend Dominic the Dolphin. Join us in 2023 as Dominic starts his adventures in earnest.

Rose Reverie

Christmas kisses Gemstone Glade with golden gloss lips. It is time for the Christmas tree to arrive. Music plays that melts in your heart, the sound of Christmas charm.

Golden angels hold a large gold tree above the glade, slowly descending as it makes its enchanting entrance. It is a golden fir from Unicorn Heaven, a sacred dimension where unicorns retire to enjoy an afterlife of peace. It is magic incarnate.

The tree roots itself as it lands. Golden baubles combine with golden fairy ornaments. The fairies hold aloft different coloured balls.

Crystalline fairy Kyanite Kim flies round the tree, then lands on a rose coloured ball. The ball falls to the ground below, quickly growing in size, and finally transforming in to a giant portal of rose light.

A magic doorway to the unknown! Kim claps her hands in delight, producing a cloud of fairy dust. “Ryan!” she calls in her silken fairy voice. He is not far away. Unicorn Ryan trots in to the glade, his white tiger cub friend Waterfall in tow. Ryan’s eyes light up, a reflection of his deep ardent adventurer soul. Without a second thought, he jumps through the portal, Waterfall right behind him. Kim laughs as she flies after them.

Pink sands stretch to a lilac sea, a marriage of calm colour. Behind, pink castles fling their steeples to the sky, as if to catch a star. It is Rose World, pink poetry in motion.

Ryan eagerly trots toward a pink unicorn. They touch horns tenderly. “I’m Roselle, rose ray unicorn healer. This is a planet of healing, patients come from many galaxies, and without exception they return home with sunny smiles chasing away their clouds. I believe you have travelled far and to many places. Perhaps it is time for you to receive some healing too.”

Kim flies around Roselle’s head, kissing her horn. This adventure is honey to her hungry soul.

Meanwhile, Waterfall sniffs the air, declaring, “there is a tiger nearby.”

A white face peers from behind a giant rose bush, wisdom wilting in old eyes. Then he is there, a large white tiger. “I’m Spirit, guardian angel of cats. I am here on holiday, what is your tale intrepid adventurers?”

Unicorn Ryan is only too happy to describe his previous adventures, read them too here

Spirit listens, a sun hidden behind the clouds in his eyes. “I can help you venture further. I know where to find a magic tablet that is a portal gateway generator, just like yours. I hid it here many years ago, as I know it will lie safe and secret in this tranquil planet. Follow me.”

They follow Spirit through winding pink alleys, pink walls rising to the skies all around. Then they are there. A small town square hidden between tall buildings, diamond paned rose windows staring down at them. A fountain spouting pink water is ahead. Spirit moves a stone at its foot. A hole appears, and within it a stone tablet. Ryan nudges it with his hoof until it is before them.

Words in an ancient unicorn tongue say:

Fairy Story Land

White Tiger World

Whisker World

Mystery Mountains

Time Terrace

Dragon Dimensions

“You can travel to all these places by placing your unicorn horn on the destination of your choice. The list spans universes and dimensions, and in all places you will find white tigers, perhaps a tribe, perhaps an ancient protector tiger. One thing I can assure you of. There will be much fun, and even more magic. Explore well, my friends. Where would you like me to send the tablet? This fountain is linked to any other fountain, anywhere.”

“We have a fountain in Gemstone Glade,” says Ryan. “That will do nicely.”

“Ah the fabled Gemstone Glade, one day I must visit. But let me show you something of this land here.”

They spend a joyful day with Spirit, but as a pink sun sets in a magenta sky Ryan, Waterfall and Kim return to Gemstone Glade via the portal. The golden Christmas tree sparkles and shivers before them. What magic will it reveal next? Check back soon to see!

Golden Rainbow

Black unicorn twins Cleo and Jess trot sleekly in to Gemstone Glade, their dark coats glistening under a soft sun, their golden horns shining like precious jewels on fire.

black unicorn rearing up, held head high
Kym on Pixabay

Slowly they circle the fountain, then lower their heads to drink, horns touching the flowing water. It turns gold, as a mute magic is unleashed. Golden light starts to rise from the fountain, turning into a rainbow, steps taking shape, each a different shade of gold, light and dark together in a dance of golden fire.

Cleo and Jess look at each other, and slowly nod. The rainbow grows higher, stretching to the sky. Cleo and Jess ascend its steps.

They reach its pinnacle, looking down on Gemstone Glade below, its fountain a shining beacon of silent hope. Then they descend the other side of the rainbow. As they reach the bottom, they are soothed by darkness. It is night here, in an alternate Gemstone Glade, the same yet in reverse. In this other world, there are three moons above. The fountain is larger and noisier, a song of moonshine magic, wild whispers in the night.

The trees frame the glade like ancient protectors, larger and therefore older than in their Gemstone Glade cousin. And in front of the fountain, are two white twin unicorns with golden horns.

“Welcome friends.” Unicorns always trust each other when they meet, as unkindness is unknown in the unicorn kingdom. “We are Clint and Jade.” The four unicorns get to know each other, and quickly realise that they are two pairs of twin souls, their lives so similar, yet different in the detail.

Gemstone Glade sighs in the soft moonlight, or Crystal Cave Glade as this version is called.

Clint and Jade show their new friends the crystal caves deep beneath the glade. A hole next to the fountain houses steps that descend, and descend. Finally they reach the bottom. Crystals of light throw shadows around a large underground cavern.

A deep pool in its centre contains tiny dolphins, jumping for joy to greet their unicorn friends. Each dolphin has a golden horn protruding from their head, they are uni-dolphins. Cleo and Jess have heard the stories of uni-dolphins, but did not believe them. Until now.

The dolphins and unicorns enjoy many hours telling stories and whispering legends. The pool links via an underground tunnel to the ocean, and more uni-dolphins arrive from there to join them. It is a night of magic and merriment. As the new friends party, mystical golden dust rises from their horns. A cloud forms and mounts the steps to rise high above Crystal Cave Glade. Then, the cloud releases golden rain, blessing the glade below with the healing power of gold. When it hits the ground, the rain forms golden pebbles.

In the morning, the golden rainbow is still there, waiting. Cleo and Jess retrace their steps, a new golden happiness in their hearts. They return to Gemstone Glade as night descends there, its one moon shining golden tonight.

The golden rainbow slowly fades, leaving behind gold dust on the ground. It starts to rain, and as if by magic the dust rises and turns in to tiny golden fairies.

The fairies of Gemstone Glade clap their hands in delight, new friends! It is a morning of golden magic, not the end but the start of a story, a tale that knows no conclusion, the never to be finished novel of Gemstone Glade.
